INTRODUCTION:
Alumina Ceramic sleeve insulators are used when electrical insulation is necessary in high heat applications. This makes them useful for supporting electric heating elements in ovens, heaters and furnaces. Ceramics hold their shape and size under pressure. This is important in switching applications where the ceramic is used to open and close electrical contacts in a thermostat or pressure switch. Ceramic parts are very abrasion resistant and offer long life in applications where other materials would wear out quickly. 2.High dielectric strength and high volume resistivity, coupled with good thermal dissipation, make alumina the material of choice throughout electrical engineering. For feed-through insulators, housings, high-performance semiconductors, silicon-controlled rectifier, surge arresters and vacumm interrupters. A wide range of metallization are available with Mo-Mn, W, AG, Tin, Ni, Tin and AU, etc. Glazing can be optionally applied. 3.Ceramic insulators used in heating applications are designed and built for resistance to high temperatures - up to 2700 ºF - and resistance to fast thermal cycling. It is recommended that only Cordierite and Alumina (all grades) be used in high heat applications due to their impressive thermal stability. Ceramic insulators for heating are not glazed, metalized or have any coating applied due to the inferior high temperature performance of the coating. 4.Mainly used within furnaces and ovens, ceramic insulators make thier way into many other high temperature applications and industries such as: Supports for electric element in furnaces, kilns, ovens and heaters. Electrical feedthroughs in furnaces, kilns, ovens, and heaters. Weight bearing components for loads in high temperature environments
